Hot Wheels Drag Races sponsored by McCracken County Public Library at Paducah International Raceway’s NASCAR Night kicked of the library’s Smartest Card campaign.

Bob and Sam Perry of Williamstown, Kentucky provided the Hot Wheels track and conducted the races. Kids and Teens raced and library staff distributed DRIVEN TO READ! bags stuffed with library card applications, stickers, dash plaques, and autograph sheets.

Celebrity drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Martin Truex Jr., Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader drew crowds seeking autographs to the local dirt track’s August 24th event.  NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005.
